Las Bóvedas Roman baths
An octagonal bath house
About Las Bóvedas Roman baths
Las Bóvedas, “the vaults”, is a Roman bath house of the 2nd century AD on the beach at Guadalmina, by San Pedro Alcántara. Seven high vaulted rooms are arranged around an octagonal central space, and the town’s heritage service describes it as a remarkably complex and original building, built to impress. Historians still debate whether it belonged to a great estate or to the lost settlement of Cilniana. Combine it with the basilica of Vega del Mar nearby.
