Iglesia del Santo Cristo de la Veracruz
A 16th-century chapel on Calle Ancha
About Iglesia del Santo Cristo de la Veracruz
The Santo Cristo de la Veracruz chapel stands at the northern end of Calle Ancha, on the square of the same name. It was built in the second half of the 16th century as part of the old Franciscan convent and is one of the oldest churches in Marbella. Look for the carved stone doorway with coats of arms and, outside, the octagonal camarín with a small roof of glazed tiles. The square around it is one of the prettiest in town.
